For individual practitioners

If you’re in private practice or building your hours as a trainee, and you offer reflective, non-clinical support, you can apply to be listed as a practitioner in the Someone2TalkTo community wellbeing directory.

Who this is for

We’re especially suited to practitioners who:

  • offer counselling-informed listening, coaching, mentoring, mindfulness, breathwork or other wellbeing support
  • work within a recognised ethical code (for example BACP, BPS, NCS, HCPC, BAMBA)
  • are open to learning about neurodivergence, trauma, oppression and access needs
  • support adults around issues like ADHD, burnout, overwhelm, menopause, grief, identity, chronic illness or work stress

You don’t have to be “perfectly sorted” or fully qualified to enquire – we welcome counsellors-in-training, early-stage practitioners and established professionals, as long as you’re grounded in ethics, reflection and care.

What you receive as a listed practitioner:

As a practitioner in the Someone2TalkTo directory, you’ll receive:

A dedicated profile page written or edited for clarity, consistency and SEO by us.
Inclusion in directory filters (topic, support type, location, language, lived / practice experience) so the right people can find you
Have your events listed, including groups, workshops or events featured in Library & Events
A gentle, non-pushy referral route for people looking for someone to talk to – without having to fight for visibility on big generalist sites

Ethics & boundaries:

Someone2TalkTo is shaped by principles from the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct and the BACP Ethical Framework. We expect practitioners to:

As with individual practitioners, we expect organisations to:

Work within the ethical codes of their own professional bodies
Be transparent about their training, accreditation level and limits of competence
Make clear that they are not offering crisis, emergency or diagnostic services through this directory

Community & visibility for practitioners

Someone2TalkTo isn’t just a directory – it’s a growing practitioner community. Alongside your listing, there will be opportunities over time to connect with like-minded practitioners and gently grow your visibility, including:

  • Online coffee mornings for listed practitioners – a calm space to share experiences, compare notes on burnout / neurodivergence and feel less alone in your work
  • Occasional “meet the practitioner” interviews, where we chat with you about your practice for the Library, YouTube and social channels
  • The chance to contribute to articles, Q&A sessions or events, so people can get to know you and your approach in a relaxed, non-salesy way
  • Priority consideration for Premium features as they’re developed, such as regular content collaborations and homepage or Library spotlights

All of this is grounded in ethics, consent and care – no hard selling, no pressure to perform online. You can take part in as much or as little of the community side as feels right for you.

For organisations:

If you’re a charity, CIC, clinic, community project, university, college or workplace offering emotional wellbeing support, you can apply to have your organisation listed in the Someone2TalkTo directory.

Listings for organisations clearly state who your services are for (public, staff, students or specific communities), so people know whether they can access what you offer.

Who this is for

We’re a good match for organisations that:

  • offer low-cost or free 1:1 or group support around emotional wellbeing, ADHD, burnout, grief or related issues
  • run peer-led or community groups for specific communities (for example LGBTQ+ groups, neurodivergent peer spaces, menopause support)
  • provide internal staff wellbeing offers, such as neuro-awareness sessions, burnout-sensitive workshops or reflective spaces for teams
  • want to be discovered by people looking for calm, ethical, non-clinical support rather than quick fixes

What you receive as a listed practitioner:

As a listed organisation, you’ll receive:

An organisation profile in the directory with clear, user-friendly information about who you support and how
Filters for region, audience (public / staff / students / specific groups) and type of support
Space to feature relevant groups, courses, workshops or staff offers in Library & Events
A place in a small, curated community wellbeing directory that foregrounds ethics, inclusion and lived experience

As the community side of Someone2TalkTo grows, organisations may also be invited to take part in practitioner interviews, themed events or Q&A sessions, and to feature relevant groups or staff offers in the Library & Events section. This will always be done in a way that centres ethics, access and the wellbeing of the people you support.

Ethics & boundaries:

Someone2TalkTo is shaped by principles from the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct and the BACP Ethical Framework. As with individual practitioners, we expect organisations to:

Work within the ethical, legal and safeguarding requirements of their sector
Be clear where they are offering support (for example, public / staff / students / service users only)
Signpost to crisis and statutory services where appropriate, and not present these listings as emergency or diagnostic services
